The surreal talent of TiLowe
|
|
About TiLowe: Ti Lowe was furious at not achieving his artists badge at cub scouts. Toggle discarded, he studied drawing so enthusiastically that his school started A level art just for him! Then he went onto Bristol, gliding through a B-A (Honors) in illustration. The first paintings sold can still be seen hanging outside pubs in North Wales & Cheshire. His cartoons sold for greetings cards and then a few surrealist paintings began to sell too. Ti went from teaching art at Northwich college, to Kings school Macclesfield then flew into a job at Berkeley Art Center in California, USA. Here he painted murals, trompe l’oeil and decorative interior effects, this lead to teaching these techniques with Pratt and Lambert Paints and exhibitions in Sacramento, Vancouver, Denver and Chicago. On returning to the UK in 1995, he exhibited paintings at art galleries in Chester and Heswall. Moving to Preston in 2001 he taught drawing and painting at Runshaw College for a few years and now paints full time and has started exhibiting his new work locally selling and receiving commissions, some more than 12 feet high. www.surrealti.co.uk |
